Cosmic Wet Dream: Psychedelic Abstractions by Ross McCampbell
Published Dec 3, 2025
Animator and designer Ross McCampbell unleashes a vibrant explosion of color in his Cosmic Wet Dream series. Originally created as a collection of styleframes for a project at Buck Design, the visuals stand on their own as hypnotic experiments in light, texture and motion.
What we love about these pieces is how they seem to hum with energy. Soft gradients collide with neon edges, forming fluid, cosmic-looking shapes. Even as stills, they have a strong sense of movement, as if each frame captures a split second from a larger pulsating universe.
Ross grew up in the high desert of Salmon, Idaho, where exploration became second nature to him. That instinct carries through his work. By continually testing new mediums and approaches, he crafts worlds that balance precision with a kind of playful unpredictability. Cosmic Wet Dream is a perfect example of that mindset, turning simple forms into something hypnotic, dreamlike and immersive.
