Dynamic, Pattern-Driven Character Illustrations by Zhimi Li
Published May 8, 2026
Singapore-based artist Zhimi Li creates character illustrations full of movement, color and visual mischief, turning bodies into bright collisions of pattern, rhythm and shape.
Zhimi’s figures twist, stretch and overlap as if they were built from cut paper, rubber bands and carnival props. Arms become long graphic bars, legs fold into angular loops and faces are reduced to a few cheerful marks. The lively compositions are packed with circular trails, glowing targets, floral forms and textured brushwork details that give each image a strong sense of momentum.
