Hot sauce brands love to compete over who can deliver the most extreme heat, but British brand DevilDog is taking a different approach. With a range of chef-made sauces that put flavor first, they teamed up with Studio Unbound to create a mischievous new identity designed to appeal to food lovers beyond the usual hot sauce crowd.

Developed around the positioning “Your Flavour Companion,” the rebrand introduces a playful red dog mascot with pointed ears that double as devil horns. The character appears in different poses across the packaging, interacting with ingredients that reflect each sauce’s distinctive flavor. A sharp, expressive serif wordmark adds personality, complemented by a clever secondary symbol that transforms the letter D into a devil’s head when rotated. Color-coded labels in shades of green, yellow, orange and lavender help distinguish the varieties, from mild Jalapeño & Pineapple to fiery Carolina Reaper, Orange & Cardamom.

The attention to detail extends to the packaging finishes, with raised gloss accents adding a tactile quality and rosette-inspired tamper-evident seals providing a playful nod to “best in show.” Gold lids, witty messaging and dramatic product photography complete an identity that combines premium appeal with plenty of character, proving that great hot sauce doesn’t need to rely on intimidating heat warnings to make an impression.
