Heavy Hitters: Sharp Character Art by Léo Chiola

Quebec-based comic artist and illustrator Léo Chiola returns to the grid with his dynamic, high-impact character art. His bold creations include superheroes, rock stars, monsters and original concepts, all brought to life through exaggerated anatomy, angular silhouettes and expressive poses.

Léo has a talent for pushing proportions without losing the personality of his subjects. Broad shoulders, enormous hands and compact heads give his characters a distinctive look and powerful presence, while sharp lighting and carefully shaped areas of colour reinforce their sculptural appearance.

Since beginning his freelance career in 2016, Léo has worked across comics, animation and video games. His credits include character design for Transformers: Cyberverse, illustrations for Marvel Snap! and Fortnite, and concept work for an original animated series. He currently works as a storyboard artist at Gearbox Software while continuing to take on freelance projects.
