Ichiban: An Akira-Inspired Electric Motorcycle
Published Jan 8, 2026
Designed by Riyadh-based industrial designer Ivan Zhurba, the Ichiban Motorcycle is a bold electric concept that draws clear inspiration from 1980s anime, most notably Akira. With its low-set stance, solid wheel forms and sharply faceted bodywork, Ichiban feels closer to a rolling graphic object than a conventional motorcycle, channeling ideas of rebellion, freedom and raw mechanical presence.
Ivan envisioned Ichiban as the first full-wheel-drive electric motorcycle, powered by a dual-motor 45 kW system capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. A claimed range of up to 250 km and fast charging that delivers 70 percent capacity in 30 minutes position it as a high-performance urban machine. Safety features like ABS and traction control are built in, alongside a ‘Godzilla mode’ that unleashes maximum torque and power for a 10-second blast meant purely for thrills.
After picking up multiple design awards and plenty of media attention, the concept has drawn interest from distribution, finance and tech partners. The team’s now looking for more backing to move toward production, and anyone curious about the project can help by registering their interest directly via the Ichiban website.
