Impossible Architecture: Futuristic Visions by Roman Vlasov
Published Feb 24, 2026
We have highlighted Roman Vlasov’s incredible architectural creations before, and they’ve become some of our most popular features. His latest concepts continue to push architecture beyond its limits, placing monolithic structures on cliffs, in forests and across desert plains, where gravity is no longer an obstacle and scale becomes the main narrative device.
Roman’s projects are as varied as they are ambitious. He seamlessly moves from sharp cantilevers and sculpted supports to sweeping curves and layered volumes. The materials, however, seem to be more consistent and restrained, typically favoring concrete and glass.
Since launching his own studio, VLA, Roman has translated this speculative language into real-world practice, delivering residential, commercial, mixed-use and hospitality projects internationally. You can revisit our previous features here and here to see how his work has evolved, or explore more on his website.
