Organic Form, Minimalist Restraint: The Pumpkin Edge Watch
Published May 28, 2026
Chinese designers Li Wenkai and Yu Dan of O_1 Design turn an unlikely reference into a sharp piece of product design with the Pumpkin Edge Watch, a minimal timepiece inspired by the segmented form of a pumpkin.
The name sounds playful, but the watch itself is stripped back and precise. Its rounded case carries subtle grooves around the edge, translating the pumpkin’s ridged surface into a clean industrial detail rather than a literal motif. The dial is even more restrained, with a brushed metal face, fine concentric texture and simple black hour and minute hands.
That balance between organic reference and industrial clarity gives the watch its character. It’s a clever example of nature-informed design handled with discipline, where the source material stays visible without taking over the object.
