Sharp Angles: Geometric Illustrations by Jun Takahashi
Published Jun 30, 2026
Tokyo-based illustrator Jun Takahashi creates sharp characters and scenes using flat color, angular shapes and elegant visual economy.
Born in Sapporo, Jun began working as an illustrator in 2014 after spending time at a character content production company. His current practice spans advertising, magazines and corporate branding, with clients including Amazon Japan, Toyota, Japan Airlines, Magazine House and Monocle.
His illustrations reduce people, places and everyday scenes to their most essential forms. Pilots, passengers, cyclists, firefighters and domestic moments are all rendered through precise blocks of color, with long shadows and carefully balanced negative space. Part of a style Jun calls “square modern,” these pieces sit alongside a broader portfolio that also includes softer, more rounded compositions, showing how comfortably he moves between different visual systems.
