Stone-Carved Cartoon Icons by Daniel Stoller

Artist Daniel Stoller transforms familiar pop culture characters into playful sculptures made entirely from natural stone. Known on Instagram as @tastystonecarvings, he recreates instantly recognizable figures from popular cartoons and video games by carving individual components and carefully assembling them into expressive three-dimensional forms.

What makes the work particularly distinctive is that Daniel uses no paint. Instead, he selects stones according to their natural colors, tones and textures, allowing the material itself to define everything from skin and clothing to eyes, shoes and smaller facial details. The approach gives characters like SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick Star, Sonic the Hedgehog, Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith an organic, earthy quality that feels very different from their brightly colored animated counterparts.
