This Book Will Make You Psychic: Mystical Illustrations by Jesús Sotés Vicente

Spanish illustrator Jesús Sotés Vicente has created a mesmerizing collection of illustrations for This Book Will Make You Psychic, a book by author and tarot expert Kerry Ward. Published by Quadrille, the book explores intuition, perception and psychic abilities through practical exercises, accompanied by Jesús’ beautifully atmospheric artwork.

His illustrations combine esoteric symbolism, vintage tarot aesthetics and surrealist imagery with a rich palette of deep greens, burnt oranges and golden yellows to bring the book’s mystical themes to life. All-seeing eyes, celestial faces, mysterious figures and symbolic animals appear throughout the series, often framed by intricate ornamental details. Jesús’ use of soft, grainy textures and dramatic lighting gives his work an aged quality, reminiscent of antique storybooks and traditional paintings.

Some compositions take on a more theatrical approach, featuring fortune tellers, meditating figures and enigmatic characters surrounded by birds and lush vegetation. Others venture into darker territory, with haunted houses, shadowy forests and strange encounters that feel pulled from a forgotten fairy tale. You can explore the full series on Jesús Sotés Vicente’s website.
