Ireland Makes Basic Income for the Arts Permanent From 2026

In a move with global resonance for cultural policy, the Irish government has announced that the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport will formalize the Basic Income for the Arts (BIA) scheme, previously a three-year pilot, as a permanent feature of its arts funding strategy from 2026.
