Montréal Opera Campaign by Featuring Agency
Published Feb 2, 2021
Canada-based agency Featuring was commissioned by the Opéra de Montréal to create a communications campaign that would “celebrate the boldness and extravagance of the art form”.
“Beyond simply promoting the upcoming season, the goal of the campaign was also to affirm the institution’s central place within Quebec’s cultural landscape. To reach theatre lovers, the Opéra de Montréal bucked conventions common to its milieu and chose to reclaim the intense, experimental qualities that make opera both unique and pertinent to modern culture.
The campaign created by Featuring presents characters dressed in flamboyant costumes made out of collages, which were inspired by themes from upcoming operas. The visuals reflect the eclecticism and uniqueness of opera as well as its sophistication.”
