Sharp Visual Metaphors by Alberto Miranda
Published Feb 19, 2026
We featured Alberto Miranda a few years ago, and he continues to create illustrations with the same clarity and bite that first caught our attention. He has a knack for translating political, economic and social topics into images that communicate instantly.
Alberto crafts his visual metaphors using bold primary colors, grainy textures and simplified forms. His compositions are tightly framed and deliberate, often isolating a single object against a flat field of color so the idea carries the weight. The restraint is part of the point, keeping the focus on the metaphor rather than surface detail. It’s also what makes his work so effective in editorial contexts. Whether he is addressing technology, public health, politics or labor, he finds the one image that bridges headline and reader in a split second.
